SUMMER OF STEAM

This summer, ignite curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving with our exciting lineup of STEM summer camps! Each camp offers a hands-on experience that blends science, technology, engineering, and math with innovation and fun, from designing high-speed soapbox cars to engineering sustainable solutions. Campers will dive into real-world challenges, using the Engineering Design Process to build, test, and refine their creations. Whether crafting bioplastics, constructing vertical farms, or developing superhero-worthy helmets, students will leave with new skills, confidence, and inspiration to shape the future.

Our STEM camps are designed to engage young minds through experimentation, teamwork, and interactive learning, making complex concepts exciting and accessible. With opportunities to explore entrepreneurship, sustainability, automotive engineering, and biomechanics, campers will develop technical skills, critical thinking, and creativity. Whether racing their soapbox cars to the finish line or designing products to launch a business, every camper will experience an unforgettable summer of discovery, innovation, and adventure!
Camp Innovation

6/2/25 to 6/5/25, Mon – Thurs, 9-12

Camp Innovation is where creativity meets entrepreneurship! This one-of-a-kind STEM camp will have young innovators diving into the world of science, technology, and business as they design and create their own plant-based products.

Campers will experiment with natural ingredients to develop essential oils, luxurious body creams, and handcrafted soaps while learning the science behind their creations. But that’s not all—our young entrepreneurs will also build a business model, design packaging, and explore marketing strategies to bring their products to life.

June 17th to 21st

Blast off your imagination as you explore planets and moons in the solar system. Receive messages from the International Space Station and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where they engineer rovers that can explore faraway worlds. Reach for the stars and beyond through hands-on engineering activities as you consider the trade-offs and variables involved in engineering model rockets and rovers.

This year's summer camp drop-off and pick-up location will be in the Technology Building, at the entrance of the Cyber Collaborative.

Register by 6/11/24 to get the early bird price of $179.00.  After that date the cost will be $199.00.

Reimagining Plastics: Engineering Bioplastics & Fabrics

6/23/25 to 6/26/25, Mon-Thurs 9-12

Join us for an exciting summer of innovation and sustainability in Reimagining Plastics, where young engineers tackle one of the world’s biggest challenges—plastic pollution! Using the Engineering Design Process, campers will explore bioplastics, a cutting-edge, biodegradable alternative to traditional plastics.

Through hands-on STEM activities, students will:

🌱 Design and create their own bioplastics, experimenting with natural materials to develop eco-friendly solutions.

♻️ Repurpose plastic waste into fabric, crafting a one-of-a-kind beanie while learning about upcycling and material science.

🔬 Investigate the science behind sustainable materials, discovering how chemistry and engineering can help protect our planet.

From lab experiments to real-world applications, campers will think like scientists, designers, and changemakers, working toward a greener future—one innovation at a time.

Survivor STEM:
The Ultimate Challenge

77/25 to 7/10/25, Mon – Thurs, 9-12

Do you have what it takes to outsmart, out-engineer, and outlast? In Survivor STEM, campers will take on exciting survival challenges inspired by the hit game show while learning real-world science and engineering skills to thrive in the wild!

Throughout the week, campers will:
🏕 Distill water to make it safe for drinking using science-based purification methods.
🌟 Navigate using the stars, mastering the ancient art of celestial navigation.
🧭 Design and build a working compass using magnetism and earth science principles.
☀️ Construct a solar oven, harnessing the sun’s power to cook food.
🐜 (Optional!) Taste-tested edible bugs and flowers, learning about survival nutrition.

Campers will put their newfound skills to the test in an epic Survivor-style competition on the final day, where teamwork, strategy, and STEM knowledge will determine the ultimate champion!

🔥 Think. Build. Survive. Are you ready for the challenge? Join us this summer and put your survival skills to the test!

Put a Lid on It:
Engineering Safety Helmets

7/14/25 to 7/18/25, Mon – Thurs, 9-12

Gear up for an action-packed summer of engineering, innovation, and impact! In Put a Lid on It, students will explore the science behind helmet design and discover how protective gear helps prevent brain injuries.

Through hands-on engineering challenges, they’ll design, build, and crash-test their very own safety helmets, applying real-world STEM concepts in physics, material science, and biomechanics.

But this camp goes beyond just design—it sparks crucial conversations. Campers will have the unique opportunity to meet a former NFL athlete who has experienced the long-term effects of Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE). They’ll learn firsthand about the importance of head protection in sports and everyday activities, making science both personal and powerful.

From brainstorming ideas to testing prototypes, students will think like engineers, problem-solvers, and changemakers—all while having a blast!

Soapbox Derby: Engineering for Speed & Innovation!

7/21/25 to 7/24/25, Mon – Thurs, 9-12

Rev up your creativity and get ready to race in Soapbox Derby, the ultimate summer STEM experience where campers become automotive engineers! In this hands-on program, students will design, build, and test their very own soapbox cars, applying physics and engineering principles to create the ultimate gravity-powered racer.

Through the Engineering Design Process, campers will:

🚗 Learn and apply the laws of motion, exploring how force, friction, and aerodynamics affect speed and performance.
🛠 Imagine, create, and improve their designs, transforming ideas into working soapbox cars.
🦸 Build a car fit for a superhero, incorporating creativity and problem-solving to make their vehicles both fast and unique!

Geared for students entering 3rd to 8th grade, this camp blends science, engineering, and hands-on fun to inspire the next generation of innovators. Campers will end the week with an exciting race day, putting their designs to the test in a thrilling competition!
