KEMET has been doing programs since 2014. We plant a seed of interest in chemical, electrical, mechanical, computer and many other forms of engineering that can grow into a rewarding STEM career. We offer a wide variety of options for parents . We offer out of school time programs in the school system that varies from a twice a week program to an all inclusive 5 day a week program. You are able to choose from a wide variety of STEM OST curriculum. We offer a coding program that teaches students the fundamentals of programming, to robotics, to a more project based engineering curriculum. Every quarter we offer project based events in the community that encourages parents to be engaged with the project.
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) is about satisfying human curiosity. Our mission is to introduce science to children during elementary and middle school. We provide a setting of real world problems that correlates to STEM objectives. Students are able to learn in an interactive setting, making science and math applicable to their world.

KEMET is an interactive science and math program for ages 5 to 17 years old. Students will explore a Mission to Mars, make a dance pad, create a video game , build a water filtration system and so much more. Students learn different engineering concepts and then learn how to apply them in the real world. Not only will the students be introduced to engineering but we also assist with their homework and offer tutoring for those in need. Research shows that regular participation in a high quality out of school time programs is linked to significant gains in standardized test scores and work habits. We plant a seed of interest in chemical, electrical, mechanical, computer and many other forms of engineering that can grow into a rewarding STEM career. Parents will love the convenience that an out of school time program in their child's school will offer to them. Parents are provided an extra sense of security knowing that their child is not being transported from various locations during the day.

Events
Using project-based learning in science, technology, engineering, art, and math is a way to solve problems in real-world contexts. KEMET takes project based learning beyond the acronym and give students an opportunity to do more extensive projects in the community. These projects give students the opportunity to use critical thinking skills to target one or more content areas.
Many KEMET events start small in their first implementations and then become a great opportunity to create a project that hits science, math, technology, and even art content.

Computers are the driving force around our world. We use computers in every aspect of our daily lives. Whether you are driving a car, going to the grocery store, or in a hospital, Engaging your children in coding, will catapult them towards success, Computers are everywhere. Engaging your child with KEMET will catapult them towards success.

Don't just play games, make them! Imagine learning to create your own game! Students will learn the basics of coding by designing interactive video games. Students will learn programming through game-like puzzles, tutorials and projects. They will do algorithms, loops, conditionals and events to make games that they can share with the world. Throughout the year, students will use various programming styles to create video games. They will learn art, music, animation and storytelling in order to create their own game. At the end of the year students will have programmed different games that they can play at home and share with friends.

Not only is your child learning but they will have fun. During various session students will create art projects in class and on the computer. They will learn about music and create a musical scores for their games. They will also meet and engage with individuals in this career field. KEMET's Year of Code will give your child an in depth view of computer programming. By the end of the year your child will be a computer whiz.
